Sunny day in Seattle
Brad took me to Seattle in celebration of our 20th wedding anniversary. We were there for five days and only had a little misty rain one of the days, so the weather was cool, but really nice!
We had fun exploring the little shops and watching the fishermen toss huge fish around at the fish market. They had an audience all day long as they sold the fish and tossed them back to be caught by the guys that would wrap them up for the customers. Quite entertaining! We even ran into some old 19th ward people while we were there, as well as the Dewitt jeweler guy that sold us our wedding rings! I think one of them said their last name was Garner (could he be Catherine's older brother?) I totally remembered his wife as a Beehive advisor or something, they lived on 2nd Avenue back then.
Ugly Monkfish
The tail of this fish reached all the way to the back, so everytime someone got up close to take a look, this kid behind the counter would yank it's tail and make it move! It really scared a few people, pretty funny!
The Underground!
We took a tour of the Underground! Did you know that Seattle built a new city right on top of the old one after a fire destroyed the whole city back in the 1800's. There were cool brick buildings and store fronts, they had lots of old antiques and things on display.
The flowers at the public market were so pretty and colorful! In fact, there were beautiful flowers and plants everywhere! Must be all the moisture they get, nothing at all like our dry desert climate!
Hazel our famous pet hamster
Miranda spent 20 minutes trying to get a good picture of her because she never stops moving! Isn't she cute? She is the friendliest little rodent around! She comes right up and climbs onto your hand for some love and attention. I never knew hamsters could be so lovable and cute!
The Lime Green Mamas
Marlee's choir concert featured smaller groups this time. Her group made matching tie-dye shirts and they sang "Locomotion." Each girl had a solo part. It was really good! So, come on, come on, do the locomotion with me!!
