Ward Christmas Party, "A Night in Bethlehem"
We had a nice time at our ward Christmas party this year. We all dressed like we lived back in Jesus' time and enjoyed a Bethlehem meal (pita bread/hummus, stew, various dried fruit, and of course dessert)! A big thanks to Jen and her aunt for letting us borrow the nativity costumes, we were able to use them twice!
Watch Daniel Play with the 6th Graders!
He was the only 5th grader invited to play with the 6th grade band. His teacher came up afterwards and asked how long he'd been playing the piano because he was such a good sightreader! (WARNING - it is loud, turn down your speakers first, and you can scroll down to the bottom to stop the background music)
Myers Boys Day-After-Thanksgiving Campout
The boys went on a little campout in the desert and rode quads and did some shooting while the girls stayed home and had a fun girls night out at Pei Wei!
I am not a big party-throwing mom, just seems like you have the family party, the other-side-of the family party, the classroom party and the friend party, Ugh!! It gets out of control if you're not careful! But every-other year or so I let them have a kid party. This year Erin took a couple friends and went to see "Princess Frog." It was really, really good! I would highly recommend it to anyone! We ran into some other kids that were there from her school. Everyone had a good ol' time!
2nd Annual Turkey Campout
Daniel has a fantasic 11-year-old Scout Leader, Bro. Jorgensen. He tooks the boys and their dads on a campout and they all helped prepare a huge Thanksgiving feast in the wilderness and passed of a few requirements as well! It was awesome!!
Phantom of the Opera
Brad was able to get 6 extra tickets for Phantom of the Opera and since our YW presidency just changed, the girls wanted to take Sis. Stewart, our past YW president, and one of their fun new leaders, Sis. Halterman. Of course their buds Briana and Jacqueline also went! Okay, I should go in order from left to right, Sis. Halterman, Jacqueline, Sis. Stewart, Marlee, Briana, Miranda.
Grandpa Myers Birthday
Grandpa Myers Birthday Celebration in the Park! Not sure how old he is, but if he reads my blog he can just click on "comment" and tell us all . . . hint, hint!
Piano Recital
Daniel and Erin's piano recital was on November 13th. Daniel played "Intermezzo" and "We'll Bring the World His Truth." Erin played "Anyone for Tic-Tac-Toe," and a duet with her teacher "My Heart Will Go On." They were the only kids to have their songs memorized, (although Erin's teacher needed the music for the duet)! They did such a good job and always make me so proud! It was good to see how they were doing compared to other kids their ages . . . pretty darn awesome if I do say so myself! ;)

Eagle Project - Great Opportunity to help out
Hey, I know everyone is struggling financially in one way or another, but here is great way to take your mind off your own troubles and help someone else! Check out what a boy in our ward is doing for his eagle project - and let me know if you'd be interested in helping out! (Just click on the title) Thanks, Clarissa

Check out this article about the band!
Read down a few paragraphs starting with "Division II was dominated by Chandler Unified School District's Basha High School..."

Today the Bear Regiment participated in the State Marching Festival at Hamilton High School. The group received a "Superior with Distinction" (highest possible rating) and won captions in every category (Music, Visual, General Effect, Percussion and Auxiliary). We were the only band to win every award possible!
Our season will conclude this weekend at Phoenix College Stadium (1202 West
Thomas Road) where we compete in the State Championship as one of the front
runners to win the Division II title. Anyone that wants to go is welcome. You can see Marlee front and center in most of these pics. She starts with the flags then does rifle and then sabre.
Halloween highlights: We trick-or-treated our neighborhood with our good neighbors Laura and Christopher. Then we decided to go visit Grandma and Grandpa Myers and trick-or-treat their neighborhood (where you get lots of full-size and king-size candy bars!)
Brad took Miranda and I to the U2 concert! I am just really slow about blogging it! It was really quite an awesome stage set up with moving bridges, big screen that moved up and down, and amazing light show! Oh, and the music was good too!
