Blue and Gold Banquet
This year the cub scouts had a state-themed cake making contest! Daniel decided not to be boring and do a square state, so he busted out and did Utah, LOL! The only rule was that the moms were only allowed to bake the cake, the decorating had to be 100% done by the boys. Daniel won an award for this cake, but neither he or I can remember what it was, probably "most spiritual" or something! There were some pretty awesome cakes, but instead of eating them, they sent them all home. Maybe they were worried about the germy kids who decorated them?

MORP
Miranda and her date, Jeff.
After blindfolding and painting each others faces, they went to one of the girl's houses and had tin-foil dinners over the backyard fire pit. Then they went to the dance, then back to the same house for s'mores and games. Sounds like everyone had a good time!

YES! Miranda has a date (her first) to MORP on Saturday, Whoo Hoooo! The theme is "Disney" and her group is going as Peter Pan, Wendy, Tiger Lily and the Lost Boys. I am guessing her date will be one of the Lost Boys. We just need to find him a shirt to go along with that, hmmmm. . .
Well, we were all ready to go to his last game on Saturday, unfortunately, Daniel hadn't been paying attention when the coach announced that gametime had been changed from 1PM to 11 AM. So he never told us and we missed the last game!! It was sad, but we didn't miss the party in the park with pizza & trophies!
Daniel, Josh and Riley
Well, we won one game this season and Daniel actually enjoyed playing, made a few baskets, and had some good friends on the team! But best of all is the huge trophy . . . just imagine the "show-and-tell" possibilites!!

I know. . . another collage . . . but it's a great way to do a bunch of cute pictures about the same subject all at once! These are the neighbors puppies and the subject of a daily begfest at our house! "PLEEEEASE MOM!". . . "We'll pay for it!" . . . "We'll scoop the poop!" ya ya ya, we already know how it goes and the answer will still be NO! Besides, Charlee would be jealous! But, aren't they cute?! We got to play with them for a solid hour and it was perfect!
Marlee had a Winterguard festival performance on Saturday at the high school. This is her friend, Ashley. They did real good, took 3rd place. I tried to take pics, but no flash photography was allowed and the pictures were bad. Oh well, at least we got this one!
Daniel is playing B-ball for the first time this year. I told him it's in his Crockett genes and that he will be a natural . . . what with his speed and height. . . and so far he's made some good shots and is really liking it! He just doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body!

3rd Place!!!
It was a great day at running club! Daniel decided he just wanted to jog and didn't care about a ribbon, but Erin went for it, in fact, she was so fast that I stood there with the video camera to tape them coming in to the finish line and I never saw her. She must've zoomed right by me!
Another ribbon for the "Wall of Winners!" Erin and Marlee have this wall in their room and love adding to it whenever they earn an award. She wanted to take a picture to show how the wall is filling up!

MHS '85 and '86
Monica Yerby Robinaugh, Lisa Denham Orr, Carolyn Slider Thompson, Jenny Morris Sharp, Wendy Whitlow McClendon, Michelle Hartley Sullivan, Clarissa Crockett Myers
"The Lunch Bunch" got together yesterday at Applebees for some reminiscing and good laughs!
Here we are, the '86 MHS Bunnies (well 6 out of 18), at Cafe Rio on my big day, April 12, 2008. Kelly Heaton Archibald, Terry Clouse Thomas, Wendy Whitlow McClendon, Clarissa Crockett Myers, Monica Yerby Robinaugh, Terri Hoffman Galvan. If you're not in the know, "Bunnies" were the pom line for Mesa High School. Now don't confuse us with cheerleaders, we were dancers (this picture was taken right before we linked arms and started doing our kick line)! ;) Look, we're even lined up according to our height, just like the good ol' days! LOL
Science Fair and Art Exhibit
We had a fun night at the elementary school checking out the kids artwork and cool science projects!
Erin's class watched butterfly eggs hatch and observed the butterflies for a few days before releasing them (they're in the white cylinder). There are tadpoles in the little red tank on the left. So much fun watching them grow and change!
RUNNING CLUB
Daniel and Erin joined the running club at their school. Here is one of their races (if you look close you can see Erin with the orange shirt on). They get together with 5 other elementary schools and race against their own grades. Last week Erin won 4th place out of all the 2nd graders, and this week Daniel took the 5th place ribbon out of 5 schools of 4th graders! Not too shabby!
